Job Summary

The Head of Autonomy and Connectivity Engineering will be based in Markham, Toronto, ON, Canada / Farmington Hills, MI, USA.

This role is responsible for leading Flex’s North America Autonomy and Connectivity design teams for OEM customer development.

You will provide technical leadership to guide teams through engineering development, maintain team capabilities and competencies, and engage with customers on design-led programs.

Your direction will be critical to the success of Flex’s design team and the engagements they serve from concept to mass production.

You are a motivated and broadly capable automotive engineering leader with demonstrated hardware and software development experience in a Tier 1 or OEM environment.

You have a solid base of experience in automotive engineering, systems engineering and are well versed in ADAS and Autonomous driving technology, and automotive Connectivity systems.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do

  • Provide technical leadership for Flex North American design teams performing Autonomous and Connectivity development.
  • Oversee and ensure team technical excellence and manage team member personal development as key elements of Flex’s success.
  • Identify critical skills, partners and infrastructure needed to deliver on current customer needs and to acquire future customers.
  • Manage staffing levels to meet current and future business needs.

    Contribute staff resource estimates in support of RFI/RFQ activities.

  • Represent North American Autonomous and Connectivity engineering to Flex and customer leadership.

Here is some of what you’ll need (required)

  • A Bachelor’s degreein a related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience leading engineering teams of 20+ people performing electrical, mechanical, software and systems engineering design.
  • High level of oral, written and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams, internal stakeholders and customers.
  • 5-10 years’ Tier 1 or OEM experience in product development, with a focus on Autonomy and Connectivity products.
  • A track record of launching high volume automotive products into production.
  • Knowledge of key technologies and design challenges for Autonomy and Connectivity products.
  • Experience developing engineering proposals for customer engagements.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
