This position will be supervising the evening shift production. Typical hours are Sunday through Thursday, from 10:30pm to 7:30am with the possibility of overtime as needed.Position Requirements* Implements operational strategies in assigned area(s) to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost and profitability* Accountable for assigned areas key performance metrics including machine and labor efficiencies and provides guidance to production associates to ensure scorecard objectives are met* Supports capacity planning process to meet internal and external customer on-time-delivery demands* Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence* Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the salaried and hourly production team, working closely with direct reports* Interacts with key stakeholders to provide technical support and/or resolve order problems or complaints* Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publicationsEssentials to the Position* Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment required* Experience in a union environment is preferred* Willingness to occasionallycover 1st and 2nd shifts for the other supervisors is also necessary* Strong communication skills and the ability to relate to multiple levels of employees* Previous corrugating or converting experiencepreferred, but not requiredEducation / CertificationsEducation RequiredHigh School Diploma or EquivalentEducation DesiredBachelor’s DegreeSkills & ExperienceWork Experience RequiredAt least 2 years relevant experience required.Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired* Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization’s policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes* Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site* Knowledge of the existing and planned approaches and methods for manufacturing products or product components* Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements and management of a manufacturing facility* Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility* Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and in the optimization of manufacturing processesAdditional Requirements* Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting with time also spent in an office setting* Frequent walking and standing required* Occasional travel required* Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.* Strong labor relation skills* Supervisory background experience in a Union environment is a plusAbout Menasha Packaging Menasha Corporation (www.menashacorporation.com) is a leading corrugated and plastic packaging manufacturer and supply chain solutions provider specializing in retail merchandising, packaging and displays, plastic reusable containers and pallets, protective packaging interiors, and packaging supply chain and fulfillment services.
