Talent Acquisition Specialist

This is a Contract position in Plainfield Charter Township, MI posted March 26, 2020.

Wynalda Packaging, formed in 1970, is an industry-leading packaging and folding carton manufacturer located in Belmont, MI.

Currently, we are looking for a full-time Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Manager and partners with the manufacturing management team for the overall mission of the organization.

This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas; full-cycle recruitment, onboarding and employment law compliance.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements: Supports production and office staffing activities including: preparation of job postings, maintenance of internal and external production requisitions, interviewing candidates, and making recommendations to leadership.

Builds and drives innovative strategies to improve quality candidate generation through vendor tools, recruiting technology solutions, and other platforms such as social media, mobile, digital, etc Supports recruiting efforts at local job fairs.

Creates relationships with local schools and agencies to assist in sourcing potential job candidates.

Work directly with staffing agencies on recruiting and employee relations for temporary personnel.

Conduct new hire orientation for all new employees and continuously work to develop the new hire program.

Data entry management.

Ensures visibility with all employees and an available presence to answer any HR-related question.

Ability to handle stressful and sensitive situations with tact, professionalism and confidentiality.

Participate as HR member for terminations as required.

Ensure all documentation is accurate and in order prior to the separation.

Maintain strict confidentiality of all information obtained, written or verbal, with a high level of confidentiality.

Participate in employee development and disciplinary procedures.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

Participate in event planning.

Serve as backup to the receptionist.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Experience Required: Talent Acquisition experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Previous knowledge in staffing and recruitment initiatives Strong written and oral communication skills.

Effective multi-tasker with demonstrated ability to prioritize.

Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality; establish strong credibility and build relationship.

Experience with an ATS/HRIS system preferred.

Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field Physical Requirements : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.

Prolonged sitting, typing and lifting up to 20 pounds.

Pay and Benefits: Pay for this position will be based on experience.
