SAP Document Specialist

StoneCrest Center

This is a Full-time position in Detroit, MI posted May 2, 2021.

Essential Functions

  • Performs review of open and closed medical records to assess documentation compliance
  • Works with Clinical Services, Nursing and Medical Staff to improve documentation
  • Works with physician scribes to ensure accurate, timely progress notes are present
  • Provides real-time feedback and education
  • Participates in orientation to new staff, serves as a resource
  • Attends treatment team as needed
  • Compiles data and prepares reports as requested
  • Assists with Performance Improvement teams as needed

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare field, Master’s degree preferred
  • Three of more years’ experience in healthcare setting with demonstrated knowledge of CMS, TJC standards for documentation
  • Good organization and multi-tasking skills, attention to detail accuracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility
  • Proficient in Microsoft (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook, etc)
