Infrastructure Approximately (but not limited to) 60+ desktops/notebooks, mobile clients, 100+ users Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 Active Directory based forest/domains, VMware, MS Exchange, MS SQL Server 2012 based database systems, CMS ERP landscape on IBM AS400, MS Terminal Services, SharePoint, NetApp CAD workstations with network FlexLM licensing for software Zebra label printers, multifunction networked devices for printing, scanning, copying, and faxing Aruba wireless network, HP ProCurve Layer 3 POE switches Avaya IP Office 500 IP phone system voicemail server Essential Duties and Responsibilities Directly reports to department manager Assist manager on developing, planning and executing departmental goals Be available as managers representative while they are on vacation or unavailable Become “primary lead” on projects that department manager defines Primary contact for support on Microsoft Office, Active Directory, Microsoft Outlook and CAD (Solidworks, ePDM, Spinfire, Autocad, etc.) systems Manage help desk activities between the vendor’s helpdesk and end-users at the division Manage and oversee administrative duties on all divisional servers and PC’s Manage enterprise systems backups for all business critical data systems. Maintain and continually develop Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity and topology, emphasizing dependability, speed, and fault tolerance between divisions, Cosma/Magna corporate offices and resources, and to our customers. Sustain development of remote access/control systems environments, allowing for efficient management of many systems by fewer and off-site personnel Plan and oversee upgrades on hardware and software systems as required Assist divisional IT team members as needed and manage the workflow of intra-divisional personnel exchange. Support EDI systems including connections to customers and vendors. Oversee and maintain enterprise-wide and automated virus protection systems on all servers and PC’s and manage automated deployment of critical software fixes via Windows Software Updated Services (WSUS) Through self-training, computer-based training and courses, continuously improve levels of knowledge and competency with IT systems and products utilized. Research, evaluate, and develop new technologies, hardware, and software Assist with company projects requiring IT involvement Maintain documentation and organization of and determine the need for various system support contracts Coordinate corporate activities with corporate and divisional IT staffs. Encourage safety, housekeeping, and organizational practices and lead by example Promote and facilitate Magna’s Open Door Process without reprisal; effective communication and Fair Treatment Participate in Continual Improvement activities Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System, and company policies Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction Able to work well with others and build and maintain positive team member relations Proven team player Proven self-starter Able to resolve user problems in a timely manner Able to prepare, read, write and interpret reports, instructions, procedures and business correspondence Able to clearly and effectively present information and respond to questions from management, team members, suppliers and customers Able to maintain confidentiality using discretion and tact Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines Able to work flexible hours and be available to three shifts Must be able to understand written instructions Education, Skills, and Experience Computer Science/Engineering 4-year degree or comparable experience Minimum 4 years computer experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Microsoft Windows XP/7, Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory and Group Policy management Microsoft Office 2007/2010 Microsoft Exchange/Outlook CMS or ERP experience a plus Strong networking experience/background including routers, switches, VLAN management, WiFi, etc. TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, WEP/WPA Optional Job Skills (Preferred) Wide Area Network experience Automotive Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems Knowledge of NetApp storage Knowledge of bar coding, labeling and scanning systems Knowledge of PLC network integration Microsoft certification Virtual Private Networking (IPsec, PPTP, L2TP) knowledge Firewall, router, and switch configuration/programming knowledge Work Environment The work environment is primarily office and includes manufacturing plant. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with team members, management, customers and suppliers. Overtime as required Physical requirements – able to lift up to 70 lbs, able to access high equipment via ladder or man-lift.
