Description of WorkUnder the general direction of the Human Resources Director, a Human Resources Generalist provides support to the Human Resources Department related to recruitment efforts and the sourcing of candidates. This position ensures that the most appropriate and current recruiting methods are being utilized to ensure the most qualified and diverse workforce. The position works closely with departments to determine their individual staffing needs in order to ensure successful recruitment and networking results. A person in this position will work with the Human Resources Specialists and Human Resources Supervisor to produce optimal recruitment and networking efforts for all County departments.Required Minimum Entrance QualificationsPossess a Bachelors degree in a business program from an accredited university, college or business school; ANDHave a minimum of one (1) year of full-time paid work experience in talent acquisition/recruiting; ORPossess an Associates degree in a business program from an accredited university, college or business school; ANDHave a minimum of three (3) years of full-time paid work experience in talent acquisition/recruiting; ORHave a High School diploma or GED; ANDHave a minimum of five (5) years of full-time paid experience in talent acquisition/recruiting.NOTE: The recruitment for this position utilizes assessment(s) in order to match candidate foundational competencies, personality, and job fit to those required for the position.Physical Conditions / Work LocationPHYSICAL ACTIVITIESAn employee in this class performs generally sedentary work activities requiring occasional lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThis employee generally works in County offices though occasional local travel may be required.Additional InformationEVALUATION CONTENTThe selected candidate must take a post-offer medical examination (including back screen and complete physical) and drug screening test given by a County appointed physician before the first day of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the medical examination and drug screening test. Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
