Position Title: Director, Radiation Oncology CGeneral Summary:The Director Radiation Oncology is Administrative Director will assume the authority and responsibility for overall administrative function of the Photon/Proton Radiation Oncology Department as assigned, including goals, outcomes, budget, HR and regulatory compliance as well as marketing and strategic planning for growth.

The Director of Radiation Oncology will support the Chairman of the department, Medical Director, Medical Physics Director and the Vice President, Perioperative and Radiation Oncology Services and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.The Director of Radiation Oncology will have oversight of all operations and pertinent activities within the department at Royal Oak, Gamma Knife, Proton, Troy and DearbornEssential Duties:* Plans, develops, coordinates, and evaluates the overall direction of all departments including establishment and oversight of departmental polices and standards.* Provide leadership, oversight, direction and administrative guidance of clinical and administrative managers related to the operations at all departments.

Ensures consistency at all sites.* Participates in identifying department needs and supports department goals and objective in order to contribute to the growth of the departments.* Collaborates with the oncology service line leaders to assist in planning and implementing cancer network strategic plan as it pertains to radiation oncology.* Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.* In conjunction with managers, oversees and assures current and future staffing is responsive to patient needs and consistent with productivity standards.* Works closely with and directs department managers to assess performance, ensure competency and initiate remedial actions when appropriate to assure compliance with program policies and standards.

Provides consistent, honest, and timely feedback.* Coordinates quarterly department staff meetings providing ongoing information regarding key initiatives of the departments and hospital system.

And to assure all staff is knowledgeable of network policies, standard of care/practice, state and federal regulations.* Coordinates monthly faculty meetings to ensure relevant ongoing information is shared with physician faculty regarding patient care, department and hospital policies, state and federal regulations, etc.This represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions.

Demonstrated ability in personnel and resource management.

Good computer skills required.
