This is a Full-time position in Burton, MI posted November 21, 2021.

This individual is responsible for assisting the Medical Team with emergency care and first aid treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses. This position will assist the Medical Team with different programs such as Qualification and Surveillance Exams and Drug and Alcohol Testing. The Medical Assistant will support administrative tasks. Motivated and able to successfully work in and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Job Elements:
• Administers professional Medical Assistant care to sick and/or injured employees
• Performs Audiograms and Pulmonary Function Tests
• Collects specimens for Drug and Alcohol Tests
• Performs COVID-19 Testing
• Prep exam rooms
• Perform initial patient intake (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, etc.)
• Perform various medical office administrative tasks (e.g. answering phone calls, taking messages, completing paperwork, printing, copying, etc.)
• Ability to work independently
• Works effectively with the Medical Team
• Support maintenance of medical records
• Maintains equipment and supplies
• Assists with the promotion of plant wellness programs
• Interfaces with employees in a knowledgeable and professional manner
• Administrative Tasks such as scheduling appointments
• Support Bloodborne Pathogens Training
• Demonstrates organizational skills
• Maintains confidentiality
• Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
• Experience with electronic medical records and medical terminology
• Adhere to professional standards
Education and Training
• Certified Medical Assistant
• One or more years’ experience in a Medical Office or Hospital
• Occupational Health experience preferred
• Certified in CPR/AED/First Aid
