Visit our careers page here to learn more about us and why weve been a certified Great Place to Work for the past six years in a rowThis entry-level actuarial position will support LGA’s actuarial valuation, mainly responsible for compilation and trend analysis of reserves and related financial information as part of the regular valuation process for Banner, William Penn, and all associated captive reinsurance entities Responsibilities: Essential responsibilities include:Compile and calculate reserves according to IFRS, Statutory and tax accounting requirements, and analyze the results.

Compile information for schedules and exhibits included in the Quarterly and Annual Statements.

Complete financial statement closing deadlines accurately and timely.Process monthly Valuation runs as soon as extracts are received from administration systems and other sources.

Ensure extracts are accurate and reconciled to the respective sources.Maintain documentation of valuation procedures and seek to implement process improvements.

Process year-end valuation materials for Maryland and New York DOI.

Provide support for any audit of financial statements.Provide support for reinsurance solutions including captive insurance companies and surplus relief, in addition to traditional forms of reinsurance.

Compile reinsurance financial reports for all reinsurance entities and coordinate reporting of reinsurance reserves and in force to external reinsurers.

Maintain valuation system, including coding new plans and maintaining existing plans, including testing and documentation of all changes.

Provide support for company projects, including adoption of new regulations, guidelines, and accounting methods.Continue to progress towards an Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation.Other duties as required.

Qualifications: EducationBS / BA degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related fieldCompletion of 2 Actuarial Exams (preferred but not required)Experience / KnowledgeEntry level actuarial position (0
– 2 years experience)Prior internship experience (preferred but not required)SkillsProficiency in Microsoft ExcelTeam player on cross-functional teamsExcellent communication skills, both written and oralStrong documentation skillsThis role is to be filled outside the state of Colorado.
