The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Global Application Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:Leading technical engagement with customers to solve industry pain points and future needsEngaging and collaborating across 3M to identify, create, test, and validate potential solutions with the customer based on industry benchmarksDeveloping voice of customer roadmaps and working with R& D platforms to identify next generation solutions needsEnsuring the sustainability of 3M business through an understanding of life cycle management and identification of key industry trends Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionThree (3) years of technical experience serving as a design responsible engineer for battery pack development and construction in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Knowledge in the construction and operating principles of lithium-ion batteriesExperience in material characterization development and its application to material selectionWork experience in automotive or aerospace industriesFamiliarity with battery pack assembly processes and material qualificationExperience constructing and testing prototypes to evaluate conceptsExperience in communicating and leveraging resources across a large organization to achieve consensus within tight timelines Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.G., H1B status).
