- Conduct maintenance, troubleshoot and basic repair TRUMPF fabricating machine tools at customer sites throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico
- Provide high-quality technical assistance to customers to ensure optimal equipment operation
- Travel across the entire US and immerse yourself within the automotive/laser industry by conducting maintenance on lasers.
- Basic level repairs for proactive cases and projects.
- Document customer machine information and technical conditions and make improvement suggestions
- Prepare and submit documentation for efficient invoicing
- Maintain company property for safe operation and maximum life
- Work within a cross functional team that includes applications, sales, engineering, or production for excellent customer service
- Act as a TRUMPF ambassador and work directly with customers during installations and repairs to enable their business success
- Any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management
- Adhere to all company guidelines
Travel
- 100% travel required, both internationally and domestically.
- Overnights required
Physical Requirement
- Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office, and ability to conduct normal amount of work on a computer
- Ability to lift and transport up to 70 lbs.
Education & Experience
- Two-year technical degree or two or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service preferred.
- Electrical and computer systems experience.
- Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics preferred.
- Experience with TRUMPF equipment considered advantageous.
- Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools required
- Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office; Word; Outlook; Excel and PowerPoint
Support TRUMPF customers in North America as a part of the technical service group.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality.
- Participate in training lasting approximately 5 – 6 months, with on-going training on existing and new products.
- Complete basic retrofits, software installations and customer training.
- Complete paperwork on time with high quality
- Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationship to customers
- Provide on-call 24/7 telephone support as required, as a part of rotating on-call support
- Adhere to all company guidelines
- Any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management
- Must be located, or ability to relocate, within 45 minutes of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
Travel
- 100% travel both domestically and internationally as required.

- Heavy lifting, climbing, pushing and/or pulling objects that can exceed 70 lbs.
- Able to work in extreme conditions including but not limited to; hot, cold or dirty environments
Education & Experience
- Two-year technical degree in engineering or related field preferred, or combination of training and work experience
- 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service required
- Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills
- Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics required.
- Experience with TRUMPF equipment considered advantageous.
- Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools required
- Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis, document findings and explain to both external and internal customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office; Word; Outlook; Excel and PowerPoint
