Installation & Service Technician – Level IV

Position Overview:The Installation & Service Technician Level IV is responsible for the overall development and implementation of various installation and maintenance services.

The person in this position will provide these services in the field at customer sites as well as in the HM Cragg corporate facility.

Reporting Relationship:The Field Service Technician Level IV reports to the Electrical ManagerResponsibilities/AccountabilitiesPerforms additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits DC Power Plant installationsVLA (Flooded) and VRLA Battery additions , removals and replacementsSecondary DC Power additions, removals and replacementsRun, Test and Terminate AlarmsInstallation of common wireless equipment such as Fuse Panels, and other DC Power EquipmentPerforms the following work activities without supervision or direction: Addition or removal of common systems equipment and hardwareAddition or removal of wiring connections on non-working equipment Lead verification and continuity testing Analysis of job specifications, drawings, and documentation Be able to provide work assignments to Skill Level 1 and 2 Installers Resolve job specification and/or drawing problems without assistance Mark and correct office record drawings Be able to perform in-process and final quality inspections Circuit modifications Power transition work Addition or removal of batteries Addition or removal of circuits on working power distribution sources DC Power equipment testing and turn-upAdheres to the installation methods and standards per Telcordia GR-1275-CORE and/or customers’ installation standardsDemonstrates proper operation of basic tools and test equipmentSupplies and organizes trucks with all equipment necessary to perform job functions at various sites.Proactively stays up to date on safety training, compliance, and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT requirementsContinually trains and develops to advance to next levels of Installation and Field Technician Conforms to all safety standardsPerform other assignments as assignedRequirements:Skills/KnowledgeMust have a minimum of 4 years of experience or equivalent experience as determined by HMC managementAbility to take direction, communication and supervision from Manager and assigned Project ManagerExcellent communication and customer service skillsExcellent attendance recordPersonal AttributesDemonstrates honesty and integrity in work and relationshipsDemonstrates servant-based principles with internal and external customersDemonstrates innovation/creativity in workPossesses strong work ethic and takes ownership of both company and client goals/objectivesFocused on understanding, meeting and exceeding customer expectationsFocused on collaboration and teamwork for the mutual success of the company and its employeesDemonstrates a willingness to sacrifice personal time for the company as conditions warrantTravel Expectations:Required travel to customer sites out of town for overnight and/or extended periods of time Posting Qualifications:High school diplomaMinimum 2-years Electrical degree or equivalent experience preferredAbility to work at various heightsAbility to lift items greater than 25lbs (and up to 130 lbs.) repetitively on a regular basisAbility to maintain a valid driver’s licenseAbility to obtain Class C Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous Material EndorsementMust pass a physical exam, background check and pre-employment drug screening The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this work.
