Corewell Health South is recruiting an Internal Medicine Residency Program Director. Below you will find the required qualifications, responsibilities, and performance expectations. Qualifications of the Residency Program Director: Must include specialty expertise and at least 3 years of documented educational and/or administrative experience Must include current certification in the Internal Medicine specialty board Must have current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment Must include ongoing clinical activity Responsibilities of the Residency Program Director: Administration and operations of the residency program Resident Education Teaching and scholarly activity Resident recruitment and selection Resident evaluation and promotion of residents Disciplinary action, as needed Supervision of residents Performance expectations of the Program Director: Be a role model of professionalism Design and conduct the program in a fashion that is consistent with the needs of the community, Lakeland, and the GME Department. Administer and maintain a learning environment conducive to educating the residents in each of the ACGME competencies Develop and oversee a process to evaluate candidates prior to approval as core faculty members Evaluate and provide oversight to program faculty Submit accurate and complete information required and requested by the DIO, GMEC, ACGME, and ABIM Provide a learning environment where residents have the opportunity to raise concerns and provide feedback in a confidential manner without fear of intimidation or retaliation Ensure program’s compliance with state and federal law and Lakeland’s agreement with Michigan State University (MSU) including academic program development, policies and procedures, resident recruitment, and faculty development. Regulatory Compliance. The Physician, as Residency Program Director, will comply with the instructions, standards, and requirements of all related authoritative, certifying, and credentialing organizations including but not limited to Lakeland, the ACGME, and the American Board of Internal Medicine.
