Come join us on our journey to create solutions for a sustainable future!We are seeking a Data Scientist for our team to provide data science consultancy and solution development to drive better and faster decision making and efficient operations and business processes.

You will lead digitalization initiatives, data transparency initiatives with business-critical dashboards and use of data to provide insights to the business with predictive modelling.

You will also support with the identification, development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of processes through automation using tools like Robotic Process Automation (RPA) In this position, you will not only initiate and execute cross-business and/or cross-function consulting projects, but you will also take the initiative to start innovation projects to develop novel scientific solutions for data driven problems.

Our specific areas of interest are image analysis, active learning, and greybox modeling.

This will also entail developing methods in-house and with academic and commercial collaborators.

This role can be based in our Southfield, MI location or be remote.

Qualifications BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalentFormula for Success:Leveraging your Bachelor’s degree in a related field and your 3-5 years of relevant experience in computer science, and engineering with a focus on quantitative analytics, machine learning, statistics, or related field, you will provide data science solutions.Relying upon your digitalization experience, you will lead in digitalization efforts by creating data transparency initiatives, developing dashboards in Tableau/ Power BI or any other solutions.

You will also support development, implementation, and maintenance of digitalization roadmaps for functions, as well as the development and implementation of cloud strategy for Coatings.Your excellent organizational skills will be essential, as you maintain and update data strategy by engaging with the Enterprise Data Lake team, as well as empower the organization to the utilize the data lake.Your robust analytical skills will serve you well, as you develop, implement, maintain, and improve Process Automation, by designing Automated Solutions to meet business needs, as well as develop and empower employees in coatings in the field of Citizen Development using tools like, Outsystems.

Power Apps, or Local RPA.Demonstrating your outstanding ability to teamwork, you will participate in peer review of solution designs, support business process owners during user acceptance testing, and identifying and communicate risks associated with process automation.

You will also assist in the collection and documentation of solution design requirements, resolve, manage and investigate automation execution issues, as well as support operational and performance metrics reporting.Your knowledge of Quality and Environmental Systems Management will be a valued asset, as you monitor NCM portal, and act as liaison between Solution development group and coatings user, as well as support development of quality and environmental business processes.

You will also develop procedures, systems, and training to improve understanding and knowledge of business processes that impact quality.Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will serve you well as you establish internal and external relationships and communicate to the leadership team.

You will be able to work in a dynamic environment where your day to day is fluid while being able to self manage and prioritize tasks.
