Human Resources (HR) Generalist – Michigan

Job Summary

Reino Linen Service is searching for a full-time Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join the team at our Brownstown Plant location! The HR Generalist will work alongside the Ohio HR team, HR Assistant, and operations management in a fast-pace environment utilizing various HR skills including but not limited to recruiting/onboarding, training, and employee relations. This position requires a high level of self-motivation and detail orientation to maintain daily needs. Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Responsible for working with the HR Assistant to maintain the employee experience for onboarding new employees through their introductory period.
    • Sourcing: review job postings/candidates for entry-level, professional, and technical job openings.
    • Recruiting: review resumes/applications submitted, conduct phone screens, in-person
      interviews, and tours to candidates to match experience with specific
      job-related requirements.
    • Onboarding: assist with new employee checkpoints. Process new hire paperwork/files.
  • Conduct exit interviews.
  • Facilitates or provides training to the workforce.
  • Maintains positive employee relations by coordinating employee recognition, incentive, and reward programs.
  • Maintain HR Administrative documents including employee records and I9 documentation.
  • Coach, counsel, and guide employees and management to communicate various human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintain all attendance records, applicant data/tracking, and employee files.
  • Issuing disciplinary action to employees regarding attendance, performance, work behavior, and other violations of company policies and procedures.
  • Process leave of absence requests including FMLA, disability, medical, and personal LOA.
  • Process unemployment claims and other HR compliance needs.
  • Investigate Safety incidents and provide necessary training to operations team to ensure safety concerns are handled appropriately.
  • Communicate with employees regarding benefit eligibility and assist with benefit enrollment.
  • Company-wide support for needed assistance.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field (bachelor’s degree is preferred); Will consider candidates currently pursuing education/training in the human resources field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources role or related field
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
