We Are Hiring Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiovascular Rapid Response Location: St Vincent’s Birmingham, Birmingham, AL Department: Rapid Response Unit Additional Job Details: Part Time, Night Shift, 7P-7A, 2-12 hour shifts, weekend and holiday requirements.

What You Will Do: As our RN Cardiovascular Rapid Response nurse you will work with acutely ill patients and help comfort their families during a stressful time.

The goal of the Rapid Response unit is to decrease emergency cardiac events that occur outside the critical care unit.

As an Associate with St.

Vincent’s Health System-AL, you will have the opportunity to provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Primary Responsibilities: Use standardized RRT protocols to treat the patient requiring care by RRT nurse Working knowledge of proper level of care placement Assist with primary care of patients waiting for higher level of care Implements and monitors patient care plans.

Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Secondary Responsibilities: Respond to sepsis alerts and assist with order set as needed Assist with bedside procedures from requesting physicians Round in-house during shift and collaborate with House Supervisor about ED holds and overall hospital status Documentation of rapid response progress notes after call ends Collaborate with any physician about patient status and need for assessment by rapid response nurse Collaborate with ED nurse about any critical care holds in the emergency department What You Will Need Licenses/Certifications/Registration: Required Credential(s): BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) must be valid for 90 days post start date or must be renewed prior to start date.

Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Preferred Credential(s): Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Two years ICU experience Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required St.

We are currently in a large renovation project to create more patient rooms and waiting areas.
