Director of Respiratory Therapy

Overview: Mercy San Juan Medical Center, a Dignity Health member, is a nationally recognized not-for-profit hospital located in Carmichael, California, serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County.

The 370-bed facility is one of the regions largest and most comprehensive medical centers, caring for more than 150,000 people each year and contains the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in the greater Sacramento region.

Responsibilities: Job Details:Provides direction and leadership to the Respiratory Department.

Ensures that the department meets the requirements of all regulatory agencies.

Prepares and justifies annual budgeting including anticipating realistic volume trends.

Implements control in fiscal management of the department.

Plans and implements new services plan and implements department changes.

Manages department budget within fiscal year approved targets.

Works in collaboration with the Department Managers and Directors to develop and implement integrated policies and procedures.

Ensures that standards and policies and procedures are followed in daily practice.

Compiles continuous quality improvement projects in coordination with key personnel: plans and implements new services plan and implement department changes.Insures compliance with accreditation, certification, licensure and government standards relevant to the different cardiopulmonary/neurodiagnostic services.

Ensures CLIA and CAP regulations are met in the Blood Gas Laboratory.

Qualifications: Experience:Minimum of five (5) years experience in Respiratory Therapy.

Minimum of three (3) years in a leadership role.

Education:Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree.

Licensure:License as a Respiratory Therapist.LI-DH
