JOB TITLE: Web Designer + Social Media Marketing
STATUS: Full-Time
REPORTS TO: Digital Director


This position will be split between Web Design projects and internal Social Media management and analysis projects. The time spent for each responsibility will vary depending on incoming projects and priorities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has the capability to take on challenges and a willingness to learn new things.

The Web Designer is responsible for creating unique and attractive websites for our clients and internal projects. Primary duties include conceptualizing and implementing creative ideas for client websites, as well as creating visual elements that are in line with our clients’ branding. The Web Designer works closely with our Web Project Manager to ensure a proper and hassle-free implementation from initial design to project launch. Some projects will be updating designs in existing frameworks (HTML/CSS), others will be started from scratch with full design freedom (WordPress). To be successful in this role, the Web Designer must have excellent visual design skills and be proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator as well as proficient in HTML, CSS, and WordPress.

NOTE: Most Web Design projects are done in WordPress but a minority are HTML/CSS driven.

The Social Media Marketer is responsible for maintaining our social media reputation, boosting our reach, and growing our brand awareness. They will work closely with the Marketing Manager to create new posts and content for each platform: Writing scripts for TikTok videos, imagery and verbiage for posts, and Blog posts. They will also be responsible for tracking customer feedback and post reach through analytics tools and preparing future posts and strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Conceptualizing creative ideas with clients.
  • Testing and improving the design of the website.
  • Establishing design guidelines, standards, and best practices.
  • Maintaining the appearance of websites by enforcing content standards.
  • Designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring that they are in line with branding for clients.
  • Working with different content management systems, such as WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal.
  • Communicating design ideas using user flows, process flows, site maps and wireframes.
  • Manage all social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok) by publishing updates, handling reputation management and engaging with clients
  • Analyzing social media post impressions and reach to develop new strategies and plans

  • Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other visual design tools.
  • Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript, and using Bootstrap/Foundation frameworks
  • Proficiency in content management systems, such as WordPress
  • Good understanding of search engine optimization principles.
  • Good understanding of social media marketing and best practices.
  • Excellent visual design skills.
  • Creative and open to new ideas and fast-paced environments with multiple projects at a time
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Prior experience required, 2-4 years experience in Web Design and/or Social Media (please share a portfolio or your work).
