Machine Operator
Reports to: Plant Supervisor
Classification: Non-Exempt/Full-Time
Job Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining complicated machinery. Specialized in a group of machines, the Machine Operator operates equipment to produce high-quality ball bearings at the lowest cost to delight our customers.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow all policies, procedures and instructions to ensure our goals for safety, quality and production are met consistently
- Monitor machine parameters and control & adjust machine settings where applicable
- Interact with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller’s (PLC)
- Inspect parts with precision measuring tools and gauges (Part measurement, documentation, response to result)
- Test the operation of machines periodically (Follow instructions to monitor settings, verify equipment controls)
- Respond to data, identify concerns, adjust equipment within parameters and communicate effectively
- Identify and properly quarantine or scrap parts
- Keep records of approved and defective units for final product
- Maintain and monitor machines to make sure it functions properly
- 5S and Housekeeping duties
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in related studies preferred
- 2 years of progressive experience in a related field strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing at a workstation and working on a computer
- Must be capable of entering the plant floor without restriction
